The 2013–2014 school year will mark the beginning of change to Miami's academic calendar, including the addition of a short winter term. The winter term will take place January 2–25, 2014 and will create opportunities for students to expand their academic options. The winter term will provide opportunities to enrich students' academic experiences, which include, but are not limited to: studying abroad, completing a workshop, conducting research, completing an internship or taking an additional on-campus or on-line course. Miami will be the first public university in Ohio to offer a short winter term.
