Farmer School PSE chapter defends its national title for 19th win in 27 years
The Miami University chapter of the Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) business fraternity has once again been named the best chapter in the nation at the group’s national conference.
Founded in 1952, PSE is the national collegiate sales and marketing co-ed business fraternity. Gamma Gamma chapter sent 41 students and faculty to participate and compete in this year’s conference, which the chapter hosted at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center last weekend.
Gamma Gamma won the Lewis F. Gordon Top Gold Chapter trophy for the third consecutive year. The chapter has now earned the title of top national chapter 19 times since 1998.
“The entire Miami Chapter would like to thank the countless Gamma Gamma alumni who annually invest their time in mentoring chapter leaders, reviewing written entry submissions, and providing feedback on presentations,” past president Kaylee Fickle said. “And as always, our thanks to faculty advisor, PSE National Council member and Board Chairman of the National Education Foundation, Patrick Lindsay, for all his time and guidance which has supported our members in winning 9 of the last 11 national titles.”
Gamma Gamma members were eligible to compete in 11 of the 23 competitions held by the fraternity, making the finals in all 11 and taking first place in seven and second place in one: Top Social Media Performance, Top Recruitment Strategy, Marketing/Sales Projects, Chapter Member Professional Development, New Member Development, Top Project Manager, and Top Management Team.
Gamma Gamma members Danny Harrison, Grace Milton, Lucy White, and Nisso Sacha earned scholarships totaling $5,000. Maggie Seitz and Lauren Powrie won Future Leaders scholarships, while Harrison also won the Trenton Haack Memorial Scholarship.
“It is only through this incredible support system that the Miami PSE Gamma Gamma chapter has maintained 28 years straight of sustained excellence as a Top Gold level chapter, more than double any other university,” Fickle said. “This is a testament to all 150+ members in the Miami chapter who, every week, every year, dedicate themselves to learning career and life skills. All are proud and humbled to carry on the championship Legacy of PSE at Miami University which was stewarded by retired Dr. Don Norris for thirty-four years.”
PSE is one of five business fraternities at the Farmer School of Business and among more than 40 student organizations at the school.
