At Miami University, we know esports. Miami was the first Division I school in the country with a varsity esports team and the first to offer an academic program on Twitch. Price Waterhouse Coopers predicts that esports will grow faster than any other sport in the coming years, and Miami University is preparing students for this exciting future by leveraging our top-ranked game program and team with our highly successful sport management program to offer one of the first Master’s in Esports Management offered online in one year.

Gain the skills you need to excel

The Master of Esports Management degree builds on Miami's esports business leadership and our industry connections so that you can tap into this exciting growth industry. In the first semester, you'll be introduced to esports, broadcasting, marketing, and facilities and event management. This is followed by an on-ground one-credit ecosystem class led by an industry expert, and a two-credit bootcamp where you'll help run the largest esports tournament in the Midwest. In the second semester, you'll study the business of esports, strategic leadership, administration, and team management. At the end of the program, you'll be ready to launch your career in esports with confidence.

What you can do with an Esports Management degree

Esports jobs are fast-growing, with everyone from game developers to megacorporations and higher education hiring various esports occupations. Esports estimated revenue is expected to grow from $950 million in 2020 to $1.6 billion in 2023, and the most recent finals of League of Legends had a larger audience than the NBA finals or game seven of the World Series. According to Hitmarker, the number of available esports jobs grew by 87% between 2018 and 2019.  With a Master of Esports Management degree, you could find a role as an esports director, manager, or producer; team coach or analyst; game developer or programmer; project manager; analyst; content creator; social media manager; or any range of other positions.
