After Orientation
Once you’ve completed your Orientation steps you are officially considered a Miami student! We are so excited to welcome you!
There are some things you can do to keep you on the right track for when your classes start. Use this list as a guide to keep you on track!
Check your Miami Email
- Start checking your Miami University email each day so you don’t miss important information. Please ensure you are using your MiamiOH.edu email account when contacting faculty and staff at the University.
Confirm your Course Schedule
- View and confirm your course schedule via Bannerweb. This video will explain how. https://youtu.be/ARYaji7T5mE. If you have questions about your schedule, contact the Regional Office of Academic Advising at 513-727-3440 or RegAdvising@MiamiOH.edu
Order your Books and Course Materials
- Your courses may require books or other materials. You can order books online though our Miami Bookstore.
- Some courses will not require you to purchase materials. Don’t be concerned if that’s the case.
- Our Regional Libraries have many course materials on reserve at no cost to you. For more information please visit their websites. Middletown Gardner-Harvey Library. Hamilton Rentschler Library.
Submit your FAFSA
- Be sure to fill out your FAFSA with Miami University’s Federal School Code 003077. You can learn more about financial aid, FAFSA, and scholarships here.
Pay Your Bill
- If you have questions about bill payment, please contact the One Stop.
- Register for RedHawk Refunds: RedHawk Refunds is a direct deposit option that is fast, free, secure, and convenient. RedHawk Refunds gives you access to financial aid refunds, student account refunds, or other funds owed to you by Miami. Look for a registration email from redhawkrefunds@afford.com that will be sent to your Miami email account.
Affiliate with Regional Accessibility and Disability Services
- If you wish to report a disability, need for testing/academic accommodations, or IEP/504 plan, visit the Regionals Accessiblity and Disability Services website.
Register your vehicle
- Parking at the Regional Campuses is plentiful and free of charge. However, you must register your vehicle online using the Parking Portal.
- Regional students travelling to Oxford will need to pay for their parking.
Sign up for RedHawk Alerts
- Make sure you are informed about campus related emergencies and information. Sign up for the free RedHawk Alerts. https://miamioh.edu/life-at-miami/university-safety/police/services/emergency-text-messaging-systems.html
Share your Access
- If you’d like someone in your family to have access to your student records, or talk to a campus office about you you’ll need to give them permission. Please visit the Student Information for Families page for more information.
Get your Digital Student ID
- If you didn’t finish getting your digital ID please do that before your courses being. Campus Service Center's Digital ID website.
Log into the HUB & Download your QR Code Pass
- Login to MyMiami and look through The Hub, Miami's student organization website, to see what student organizations interest you.
- In your account settings you can download your personal QR Code to your phone’s digital wallet. You’ll use this QR code to sign in to campus events and activities.
