- GrantForward is a subscription-based source of funding opportunity information for most disciplines. Miami students, faculty, and staff can use GrantForward free of charge.
- grants.gov allows researchers to search for Federal agency funding opportunities.
- The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) is the most comprehensive listing of Federal assistance programs.
- The Defense Innovation Marketplace is a source for Department of Defense (DoD) funding information.
- Biomedical and health researchers can find funding opportunities on the Trialect website. After following the link, select Grants and Funding from the "Opportunity Type" drop-down menu.
- Researchers in biological and earth sciences can sign up with Instrumentl. A free account will allow you to view funding opportunities with deadlines in the next 90 days that are a good match for one project. Please be aware that as part of the account creation process, Instrumentl requests a significant amount of personal information, as well as information about the specific project you are seeking to fund. Instrumentl's FAQs indicate they use the information they collect only to match users with funding opportunities and do not share it with third parties, but you should still exercise caution and provide the requested information only at your own discretion.
- Humanities and social science scholars and researchers can use H-Net as a source of funding information.

- Lists of grant opportunities for institutions and for individuals are maintained by Jon Harrison of Michigan State Libraries.
- The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) offers links to many Federal agency publications — including the Federal Register and Commerce Business Daily — that may include funding opportunity information.
- The State of Ohio has a number of agencies that fund research.
- Great Lakes Information Network: offers scholarships and fellowships; other funding opportunities are announced through Great Lakes Daily News

- The Arts Services Directory provided by Americans for the Arts can provide you with a list of local arts agencies that may provide funding. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Arts Services Directory.
- Expand the "Organization Type" drop-down menu and select Local Arts Agency.
- Enter relevant location information (at minimum, select a state).
- Click the Go button.
- Miami University offers internal support for faculty research.
- Interdisciplinary research is currently being privileged at the NSF and other Federal agencies. Funded projects have brought together scientists, artists, engineers, humanists, educators, and social scientists in various combinations and permutations. Faculty who want to explore the possibilities of interdisciplinary research can view a list of projects funded by the NSF.
