Armstrongs' gift from the heart: $2 million in student scholarships
Mike Armstrong (Miami '61) announced during the Feb. 7 Armstrong Student Center dedication, that he and his wife Anne Gossett Armstrong (also Miami '61) have made an additional $3 million gift to Miami University. From it, $2 million will create the Armstrong Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) Scholarship and $1 million supports the planned Armstrong Student Center east wing expansion project.

David P. Rahm Trust commits nearly $4.2 million to Miami for student scholarships
A $4.17 million estate gift from the late David P. Rahm of Middletown will support scholarships for students on Miami University's main campus in Oxford and regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown.

Record number of students apply for a Miami University education
A record 24,801 students applied for the fall 2014 semester at Miami University's Oxford campus. That number, as of Tuesday, Feb. 4, continues to grow as the university finishes processing applications submitted for the Feb. 1 final application deadline. It exceeds Miami's fall 2013 record-breaking count of 22,520.

"You can already feel the energy"
It's open. The Armstrong Student Center officially began its 24/7 daily operation at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27. From 10 a.m.-8 p.m. staff members, building managers and Armstrong student board members will give hourly tours. Monday also begins two weeks of activities leading up to a campuswide dedication ceremony and open house 2-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
