Our current faculty members teach classes as well as mentor students in undergraduate research projects. Each faculty holds an advanced degree, and the individual specialties span a broad range of areas vital to bioengineering, chemical, environmental and pulp and paper engineering.

Miami has facilities to provide hands-on experience for both undergraduate and graduate students. The department's laboratory facilities include: an Engineering Instructional Lab, a Paper Testing Lab, a High Bay Area Lab which houses Miami's Pilot Paper Machine, a Biomedical Research Lab, and Faculty Research Labs. Additionally, Miami's Chemical, Paper, and Biomedical Engineering Department has a Contract Research Lab, where companies can work with Miami's faculty, staff, and students to conduct projects for process and product development and assessment. Within Miami's labs, students work with faculty to gain knowledge of and experience with high quality research-grade equipment and instruments.
