Interviewing
Interviewing is a critical part of any job or internship search. To help you develop and refine your interviewing skills, we offer coaching, programs, and resources.
Interviewing Support
An interview is a conversation between an employer and a candidate. It helps employers determine if you’re a fit for a position based on your skills, experiences, and character traits. It also helps you decide if the role and organization is right for you.

No Show/Late Cancellation Policy for Interviews
A missed interview due to a no show or a late cancellation reflects poorly on you and the entire Miami student body. It is a waste of a interview slot for the recruiter and for another student who would have liked an interview but could not get on the schedule. The following penalties will be imposed per Career Center policy.
- 1st offense: Your account is blocked from participating in the interviewing process until a formal letter of apology to the employer or interviewer is reviewed by Valarie Jacobsen, Director of Employer Relations. Once approved, the apology must be emailed to the employer or interviewer (copied to valarie.jacobsen@MiamiOH.edu). This must be completed within 30 days, or your account is disabled for the duration of the academic year.
- 2nd offense: Your account is permanently disabled, and you will not have access to any Handshake features for the duration of the academic year. A meeting with the Executive Director of the Career Center, or a designee, is required to restore Handshake access.
