Nursing Graduate Programs

Miami University offers multiple pathways for nurses to elevate their careers through graduate study. Our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program welcomed its inaugural cohort in Fall 2022, and our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program launched in Fall 2024. With a seamless progression from MSN to DNP, students can enter advanced practice and continue working toward their terminal degree—gaining both clinical expertise and leadership skills along the way.

Masters in Nursing

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Family Nurse Practitioner program offers extensive support in finding exceptional clinical placements. Courses are 100% online. The Family Nurse Practitioner track includes a two day on campus skills weekend mid-program for advanced procedures.

Doctor of Nursing Practice

Miami University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree is designed to elevate the careers of graduate-level nurses by preparing them for leadership roles in healthcare systems. With a focus on evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and leadership, the DNP equips graduates to drive meaningful change in patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

Miami’s Nursing Department doesn’t just prepare you for the medical side of nursing, they also prepare you for the spiritual and emotional side of nursing care. It’s a holistic model curriculum. Other programs don’t emphasize that model as much as Miami does.
