Miami University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) until its next scheduled review in 2026.
[Note: Miami University’s Educator Preparation programs are currently accredited CAEP. School psychology future accreditation will be reviewed by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Miami’s program is currently approved by NASP through 2027.]
Students are also expected to master Higher Learning Commission (HLC) student learning outcomes. The CAEP Key Assessments provide us with evidence to evaluate whether the HLC learning outcomes are met:
Students will apply varied methods of assessment for identifying strengths and needs, developing effective services and programs, and measuring progress and outcomes.
Students will provide direct and indirect intervention services to support student social-emotional and academic functioning.
Students will demonstrate core foundational knowledge in research, program evaluation, and legal, ethical and professional practice.
Students will use principles and research related to diversity factors for children, families, and schools, and evidence-based strategies to enhance services.
Students will apply varied methods of consultation and collaboration applicable to individuals, families, groups, and systems.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of school and system structures and preventive and responsive services.
