Biography

After earning his B.A. from the University of Louisville, Dr. Shull pursued an MBA and Ph.D. in Business at Indiana University. He came to Miami University in 1989 as an Assistant Professor of Finance, and was promoted to Associate Professor and given tenure in 1995. He was the recipient, in 1994, of the Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration Teaching Award.

Corporate finance is Dr. Shull’s major area of interest. His areas of specialization within that field include capital budgeting, mergers and anti-takeover measures, investments, closed-end funds, and anomalies in stock returns.  He has published in the Financial Review, Engineering Economist, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, and the International Journal of Business Research.
