Screening COVID-19 Safety Measures

The Miami University Employee Health Center can conduct biometric screenings with enhanced safety measures regarding COVID-19. There have been adjustments made to the screening process to adhere to best-practice concepts related to COVID-19 in order to ensure the safety of Miami Employees. Please review the changes, listed below, to our biometric screening process moving forward.

Safety Measures

All Miami Employees will wear a mask/face covering throughout the entire biometric screening.
  • Mask/face covering must be clean.
  • The Health Center will supply masks for employees that do not have masks.
  • Biometrics will be drawn out of the Health Center Lab. The waiting area seats will be at least six feet apart.
  • Employees will pass through a temperature check station with an infrared thermometer and ensured employees have mask/face covering before entering the registration area.
  • Employees will register and be directed to the Lab waiting area.

Symptoms

Participants will be asked the following questions at the time of registration and again at the time of their appointment. If a participants answers “Yes” to any of the below questions, they will not be permitted to have a biometric screening done at that time:

Biometric Screening

Participants will be paired with one TriHealth staff member who will conduct all biometric screening components: blood pressure and biometric blood draw.

  • Each biometric screening appointment should last approximately 15 minutes.
  • If there are multiple screeners, appointment start times will be staggered in order to reduce the amount of people gathering at the registration station at one time.
    • No walk in appointments will be allowed. All appointments should be scheduled ahead of time.
    • Participants must show up at the time of their screening in order to be seen/ensure physical distancing.
  • Each screening station will be equipped with hand sanitizer and cavi wipes.
  • The entire screening station including all instruments used during the biometric screening will be disinfected between employees.
  • Employees will exit out of the clinic through the north doors to prevent contact with incoming employees and to ensure strict social distancing.
