This area within the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI) aims to curate experiences that create robust interactions between the many different cultures that make up Miami.

LGBTQ+ Initiatives

These programs provide advocacy, activities, and education to members of the Miami University community. Its purpose is to support and affirm the experience of people identifying as queer and/or transgender and is available to anyone on campus interested in learning more about gender, sexuality, and intersecting identities.

History and Heritage Month Programming

Working in close collaboration with faculty, staff, and student partners, the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion provides opportunities for the Miami community to continue our learning and engage in meaningful programming that recognizes, examines, and values historical legacies of a diverse array of identities.

Attend MADE at Miami

MADE at Miami is a two-day, pre-semester program designed to bring together first-year students of color, international students, LGBTQ+ identifying students, and first-generation college students. Participants move in early, make connections, and learn how to make the most of their college experience.

Be a Peer Educator

Help spread awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus by joining the new peer education program from the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion. As a peer educator, you’ll be trained in how to create diversity-focused educational experiences that aim to develop knowledge, change behavior and build inclusivity skills in your fellow students. If you’re ready to make a difference, submit an interest form.

The Miller Center provides services and resources to students with disabilities as well as training and development for campus departments to ensure an equitable and inclusive experience for the Miami community.

The AccessMU Center works to create a more accessible digital experience for all students by providing training and services regarding websites, applications, and documents.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Councils

Inclusion efforts at Miami University are aided by various councils made up of students, staff, and faculty.

DEI Student Advisory Council

The DEI Student Advisory Council helps maintain regular lines of communication with all students and empowers them to provide regular input and recommendations related to student experiences.

Divisional Diversity Officers Leadership Council

The goals of this Council are to identify, discuss, and support unit-based and cross-unit diversity and inclusion efforts and to develop new collaborative ways forward to foster inclusive excellence.
