DEI Course FAQs
Enrollment and Course Completion Questions
On March 7th, you will receive an email asking you to create an account in Miami’s Professional Education learning platform. Once you create a Professional Education account, you can begin the course on March 14th. The course is self-paced and asynchronous (there is no face-to-face instruction, and you can complete units at your own pace).
The online Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) course launches Monday, March 14th, 2022, and closes May 31st, 2022.
No. The course is asynchronous, so there are no face-to-face sessions with other students or instructors. You can complete the course at your own pace.
The DEI course is self-paced; you can spend as much time on it as you would like in a given week. All units must be completed by May 31st, 2022. The amount of time spent on each module varies depending on each student's pace, but we estimate that each module will take about 45 minutes to complete.
No! You are able to begin with any topic that you would like. However, please note that all modules must be successfully completed in order for you to receive your certificate. Students must achieve a cumulative grade of 80% in all modules to receive their certificate.
The registration email has been sent to the same email address that was used during the registration process. We recommend checking your junk/spam folder if you do not see the email in your inbox. If you continue to have problems registering, email professionaled@miamioh.edu for help.
The DEI course is an open enrollment course. You are free to register until April 8th, 2022, and the course must be completed by May 31st, 2022. New registrations will be added on the following Monday.

No. The course will be closed to all learners after May 31st, 2022.
After completing all of the sections of the DEI course, you will be able to download your certificate.
Course Navigation Questions
How do I know if I have completed a module?
When you have completed a module, you will notice a green checkmark appear next to the sections listed in the module. This checkmark indicates that the module is "complete."
Why did I not receive the green checkmark even though I completed the section of the module?
Be sure to complete all questions and videos on the section page. The green checkmarks are there to indicate your progress. Please note that it is okay if you do not see the green checkmark appear at the top. The green checkmarks will not prohibit you from earning your certificate at the end of the course. However, if you do not see the green checkmark appear after completing a knowledge check, please contact us at professionaled@miamioh.edu.
