Assessment Certificate Program

The Student Life Assessment Certificate Program (ACP) provides staff members the opportunity to experience an intentional, in-depth, and collaborative learning environment to deepen their understanding and application of assessment. Through small group conversations, readings, workshops and guest speakers, participants will develop and refine their skills, capacities, and confidence surrounding assessment.

The ACP is open to any professional staff member in the Division of Student Life, regardless of skill or specific responsibility for assessment. Applications are not currently being accepted.

By participating in the Student Life Assessment Certificate Program, participants will:

  • build assessment-related capacity and confidence;
  • articulate the value and impact of assessment in their professional work;
  • demonstrate making data-informed decisions; and
  • develop campus partnerships with other participants.

Program Design

The program is based on a cohort model that will engage participants in a number of opportunities, including:

  • A series of directed readings and discussion groups
  • Opportunities to meet and hear from experts throughout the institution who are conducting assessment efforts
  • Participation in skill building workshop sessions
  • Active engagement in an assessment project central to the division - including analysis of a data set and opportunities to present findings
  • Participation on a sub-committee of the Student life Assessment Team
  • A culminating assessment project that directly relates to their unit with expectations for sharing the project and data at institutional and/or regional assessment conferences.

We are not currently accepting applications for the Assessment Certificate Program.
