Department of Accountancy
Highly-ranked, student-focused programs that prepare you to excel as tomorrow's business leaders. Miami’s Accountancy faculty are both passionate educators who prepare students to excel as tomorrow’s business leaders and highly accomplished scholars. Miami Accountancy faculty rank highly in multiple important areas of accounting research including 5th in experimental tax, 5th in experimental audit, 5th in experimental Accounting Information Systems, and 11th in experimental managerial research in BYU’s Accounting Faculty Research Rankings (last 6 years).
Our Degree Programs
The Department of Accountancy offers both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree program. Both consistently rank in the Top 25 in the nation. That’s one of the reasons we are a target recruiting school for the Big Four and other professional services firms as well as a number of corporations, financial institutions and government organizations.
About
Pursuing a degree in accountancy at Miami will help you to develop a wide range of knowledge, skills, and abilities, and establish life-long partnerships that will provide an excellent foundation for a highly successful professional career in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
Our bachelor’s and master’s programs offer state-of-the-art curriculum and co-curricular experiences led by world-class faculty who are passionate about Miami’s educational mission and eager to mentor students. Further, Miami’s accountancy programs are rare in that they are large enough to attract the attention of top recruiters (e.g., Miami is a target university for many top public accounting firms) but small enough to guarantee personal attention from full-time, highly dedicated faculty members.
For these reasons, among others, Miami’s accountancy programs consistently rank in the Top 25 in the nation, according to the Public Accountancy Report.
The Farmer School and the Department of Accountancy were granted an extension of our accreditation in 2021. Dual accreditation in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International is an elite distinction shared by fewer than 2% of schools in the world offering business degree programs.
Engage with and prepare students to excel as high integrity, adaptive business leaders who leverage their accountancy expertise and diverse skill set to meaningfully contribute to the global community.
