Doctor of Philosophy Degrees

Miami University College of Engineering and Computing offers two doctoral degrees: A Ph.D. in Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Both these programs are offered in collaboration with Miami University's Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Science. Master's Degrees

The College of Engineering and Computing offers nine Master's degrees, a microcredential, and one graduate certificate. You may select either a research or project option and gain experience working closely with a professor.

Master of Computer Science

This new degree program offers a non-research/non-thesis-based Master's of Computer Science. With continuous changes and demands in the computer science industry, this degree is for those seeking to be flexible in today's workforce.

Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering

Miami University’s Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering degree program meets the evolving demands of the chemical industry and environmental agencies with a dynamic and rigorous graduate course of study.

Master of Science in Computer Science

The Master of Science in Computer Science prepares students for computing professions that require research, invention and specialized knowledge. This includes the possible pursuit of a Ph.D. in computer science.

Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering prepares students for future engineering practice that requires engineers to master both electrical/computer engineering and computational methods. It is suited for students with a background in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related discipline. For this degree, you can expect computer programming, computer-based modeling and electrical/computer engineering coursework.

Master of Science in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering

The Master of Science in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering focuses on chemical and biological process industries, biomedical engineering and the paper industry. The degree is suited for students with backgrounds in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering and related fields.

Master of Science in Clinical Engineering

Grow your knowledge and expertise in research-based clinical engineering, allowing you to increase your earning potential and opportunities for advancement. You'll gain a foundation in all aspects of clinical and biomedical equipment and instrumentation, medical device design, clinical trials and data analysis, quality control, and regulatory affairs. Experiential learning opportunities will prepare you for a successful career in the lucrative biomedical device industry in settings such as hospitals, health insurance, or pharmaceutical companies.

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering prepares students for future engineering practice that requires engineers to master both mechanical engineering and computational methods. It is suited for individuals with a background in mechanical engineering or related areas such as physics. The degree includes courses in computer-based modeling, advanced mechanics of materials, control of dynamic systems and mechanical behavior of materials as well as a limited number of additional classes in science, mathematics or engineering.

Graduate Certificate: Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Evaluation

This graduate certificate program develops and enhances skills in analyzing, adopting, and effectively utilizing advanced manufacturing methods and the interplay between manufacturing processes and material properties. Courses can be selected to suit areas of interest and/or job requirements.
