Doctor of Philosophy Degrees

Miami University College of Engineering and Computing offers two doctoral degrees: A Ph.D. in Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Both these programs are offered in collaboration with Miami University's Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Science. Master's Degrees

The College of Engineering and Computing offers nine Master's degrees, a microcredential, and one graduate certificate. You may select either a research or project option and gain experience working closely with a professor.

Computer Science, M.S., MCS

The Master of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Computer Science are both offered. The Master of Science in Computer Science is thesis driven, while the Master of Computer Science is coursework only (non-thesis). Both Master's programs allow for a combined Bachelor's/Master's option in which a student can simulaneously pursue two degrees, saving time and money.

Biomedical Engineering, M.Eng.

Miami University’s Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Biomedical Engineering degree program equips graduates with the necessary knowledge to thrive in the biomedical industry.

Chemical Engineering, M.Eng.

Miami University’s Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering degree program meets the evolving demands of the chemical industry and environmental agencies with a dynamic and rigorous graduate course of study.

Electrical and Computer Engineering, M.S.

The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering prepares students for future engineering practice that requires engineers to master both electrical/computer engineering and computational methods. It is suited for students with a background in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related discipline. For this degree, you can expect computer programming, computer-based modeling and electrical/computer engineering coursework.

Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, M.S.

The Master of Science in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering focuses on chemical and biological process industries, biomedical engineering and the paper industry. The degree is suited for students with backgrounds in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering and related fields.

Clinical Engineering, M.S.

Grow your knowledge and expertise in research-based clinical engineering, allowing you to increase your earning potential and opportunities for advancement. You'll gain a foundation in all aspects of clinical and biomedical equipment and instrumentation, medical device design, clinical trials and data analysis, quality control, and regulatory affairs. Experiential learning opportunities will prepare you for a successful career in the lucrative biomedical device industry in settings such as hospitals, health insurance, or pharmaceutical companies.

Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing Engineering, M.Eng.

The Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing Engineering equips working professionals and full-time students to drive innovation in high-paying industries through advanced study and practical experience in materials engineering, smart manufacturing, thermo-fluids, dynamics, and robotics.

Mechanical Engineering, M.S.

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering provides advanced, quantitative training in areas such as computer-based modeling, mechanics, control of dynamic systems, thermo-fluids, and material behavior, preparing students with mechanical or related backgrounds for higher-level engineering practice.

Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Evaluation

This graduate certificate program develops and enhances skills in analyzing, adopting, and effectively utilizing advanced manufacturing methods and the interplay between manufacturing processes and material properties. Courses can be selected to suit areas of interest and/or job requirements.
