Dietetic Internship Policies and Procedures
Program policies and procedures for the Miami University Dietetic Internship are provided below. These are designed to provide enrolled students with information needed to promote successful and timely completion of the program.
The Miami University Dietetic Internship program policies and procedures are introduced in a mandatory program orientation provided in the first (Fall) semester. Further information is provided during advising sessions with the Dietetic Internship Director as you progress through the program. In-depth information is covered in KNH 610 Internship required in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Seminars are offered at the beginning, middle, and end of each semester to include information on progression and evaluation of performance, professionalism, credentialing in the dietetics profession, and the dietetics registration examination. Some of these topics will be covered through modules offered on the Canvas site for each course.
Canvas Organizational Site
Students are provided access to the Canvas Dietetic Internship Organizational site accessed via the Miami University MyMiami website. This site provides valuable information relevant to students; including advice on academic success, the Student Handbook, information for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership and Code of Ethics, Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND) organization information and valuable internship information. This site also provides students the opportunity to communicate with other students and faculty. Students are encouraged to check this site frequently for updates and timely information.
