Miami University and the Dietetic Internship program are sincerely committed to the successful completion of the program for each student. Miami University provides considerable resources to assist students who may be struggling to meet educational standards. The Dietetic Internship Director, professors, and preceptors are keenly interested in assisting students who may be experiencing difficulty.
Students who receive poor performance assessment during or at the end of a semester will be required to meet with the Director or Dietetic Internship for remediation. Remediation may include a variety of approaches designed to assist the student toward success including remedial testing, exercises, assignments, and/or experiences. For graduate courses, students will need to meet the professor’s standards for remediation and successful completion. If the student persists in poor performance during supervised practice, the student may not be allowed to progress to the next semester/educational experience.
