What about the food?

You're going to like eating here!

Q. When can I begin using my meal plan?

A. All first-year student meal plans become active at lunchtime (10:30 AM) on Thursday, August 20.

Q. Can I eat at any dining location on campus?

A. Absolutely. Your meal plan will work at any of our All-You-Care-To-Eat Buffet locations, our a la carte (pay per item) locations, convenience markets, restaurants, concessions, strEATS food truck, and To-Go windows.

Q. How do I learn more about meal plans?

A. Visit our website (MiamiOH.edu/Dining) to learn all about the First-Year Meal Plans. You may change your meal plan level any time prior to the beginning of each semester.

Q. Are there jobs available in dining locations?

A. Yes. The dining locations are an excellent place of employment for students. Competitive wages, flexible hours, and the opportunity for individual growth and development while working a team environment are a few of the perks. Locations are convenient to classes and work schedules are individually created around class and study time. Sign-up online at https://miamioh.hiretouch.com/

Q. Where do Miami's recipe's come from?

A. We maintain a database with over 5,000 recipes. Over the years, recipes have been collected from students, staff, cookbooks, trade magazines, and test kitchens. Menus include a wide variety of freshly prepared and made-to-order items that have become Miami’s hallmark. Many of the items served are prepared from scratch daily in our kitchens or our Demske Culinary Support Center.

Q. Can you help me find food that works with my dietary restrictions?

A. Absolutely. We encourage anyone with a food allergy or special dietary need to call our staff at 513-529-3040 and set up an appointment to discuss individual needs and the assistance we can provide. We are here to help!

Q. Is nutritional information available?

A. Yes. Detailed nutritional information about the day’s menu choices is always available on our website (MiamiOH.edu/Dining).

On that site you can even build 'My Tray' which calculates the nutritional information of all the items you enter from the menu!

If you need to make a last minute decision, you can check out nutritional info at one of our many kiosks located on site in our dining units.

Q. Are vending machines available on campus?

A. Yes! Vending machines are located throughout campus in residence halls, academic halls, and other locations. You can conveniently use your MUlaa account to make purchases at these machines. Look for green product pushers on items that meet healthy snack recommendations by The American Heart Association.

Q. What is a MUlaa account?

A. MUlaa is Miami's on-campus debit account that may be used at Miami vending machines, residence hall laundry facilities, non-food items in campus markets, the Miami Bookstore, Recreational Sports Center Pro Shop, Copy and Print Center, Box Office, campus print stations and copy machines. You will use your Miami ID card to access your account. You can add money to your account through your Housing Contract, or by visiting any open food service location or the H.O.M.E. Office.

Q. What should I do if I'm sick and can't make it to a dining hall?

A. If you are unable to go to a dining location due to a medical condition, you may arrange for a roommate or friend to pick up a meal for you. Your roommate/friend may go to any dining location with your Miami ID to obtain a meal for you. While all dining locations provide "Under-the-Weather Meals" upon request, a la carte locations that offer pre-packaged foods are the most convenient. The person picking up the meal should request the assistance of a manager. Call 513-529-3040 if you have any questions or need help contacting a manager.

Q. What do I do if I have a suggestion or a complaint?

A. We want to hear from you! While it is best to let management know at the location, you can always send your feedback through our website at MiamiOH.edu/HDRBS
