Travel Assistance Grants

A limited number of xdMFA Travel Assistance Grants (TAG) are available each semester for students in the xdMFA program. This travel assistance is available each semester and must be used for travel to an xdMFA Destination Weekend. Grants will be awarded based on financial need and funding may be used to pay for:

  • Air Travel
  • Hotel Accommodations (including Airbnb and other homestay services)
  • Car Rental
  • Trains
  • Pre-paid Public Transportation Passes/Cards
  • Museum/Attraction admission for the course

Awards can be no more than $500 per semester/per student and awards will typically be around $250. This grant may not be received more than six times per applicant. Award priority will be given to those who have never received assistance. If a request can not be fully funded, please still apply. Partial funding can be awarded for travel expenses and applicants can pay for the difference.

Application Process

Applicants should obtain pricing and the total cost for the travel they wish to have covered before applying. A PDF of a checkout screen or estimate detailing costs is required for each travel type. Applicants must provide a short, need background statement. Applications will not be considered unless all documentation is received by the application deadline and all of the qualifications are met.

Applications for Fall travel are due September 15.
