December SEOH Program News

Course Evaluations

Students should have received email invitations for each of their registered courses. Enrolled students will have until December 11 to submit their fall course evaluations through myMiami. Course evaluations are very important.  It is used for annual evaluations of faculty, future course development and other purposes. Course evaluation responses have been quite low recently, which diminishes the usefulness of this data.  Please take a moment and check your email (or MyMiami) to find a link to the course evaluation survey for each of your courses.

Fall grades should be submitted by December 20th, and viewable to students on the 22nd of December.

Winter and Spring Terms

The SEOH winter term courses begin January 2, 2017. The term's first live session is January 7. The spring “W-term” begins March 6.

Registration for both winter and spring terms is available in BannerWeb. SEOH students are encouraged to register well-before the first winter class meeting on January 2. Please note that the university will be closed December 24 through January 1 for the winter break. Students receiving financial assistance and who are taking both winter & spring courses will have their aid disbursed on January 5. Therefore, it’s important for these students to register for both winter and spring classes prior to the university closing on December 23. Winter/Spring semester bills are due January 5. Find out more about disbursements and to learn how to avoid a hold on your aid.

Contact SEOH with any program advising questions.  Contact the One Stop office for assistance with any holds that may be placed on your registration.

Winter Graduation

While there isn’t a winter (January) graduation ceremony, students may graduate in the winter term. The deadline to apply is December 16, 2016. Winter candidates are encouraged to participate in the December (fall) graduation ceremony on December 16. Contact the SEOH office to request the necessary documents for submission.
