Exchange Admission
Have this document ready:
- A copy of the biographical page of your passport
- After you have completed the ISEP application process, watch for an email from Miami University’s inbound exchange coordinator with instructions for starting the Miami exchange process. Do not start the process until you have received this email.
- Follow instructions in the email to login to InterLink, Miami’s system of online services for international students.
- Complete the Exchange Student Confirmation, uploading the biographical page of your passport. The exchange coordinator will also refer to your application materials in the ISEP portal.
- Apply for on-campus housing and confirm your placement in the ISEP portal.
- ISEP will create and issue your DS-2019 document. Please contact ISEP for questions about DS-2019 issuance.
- Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
- Prior to your arrival or before starting classes, you will work with a Miami University academic advisor in your field of study to register for courses.
- Check your Miami email regularly for information about arrival and orientation, and let us know if you have questions!
Have these documents ready:
- An unofficial transcript
- Evidence of English language proficiency or written proof of English language proficiency from a professor or academic staff member at your institution.
- A copy of the biographical page of your passport
- Evidence of funding to cover the estimated costs of attendance.
- After you have been nominated by your institution, watch for an email from the Miami International Admissions Office with instructions on completing the international transfer application.
- Complete the application. Kansai Gaidai transfer students do not pay the application fee and may submit written proof of English language proficiency from a professor or academic staff member at your institution.
- After you have applied, watch for an email from Miami containing a link to your personalized Applicant Status Page.
- Use this status page to monitor your application checklist and to confirm that Miami has received all materials necessary for your application. When your admission decision is released, check your status page for a digital copy of your admission decision letter.
- Once admitted, watch for instructions on applying for housing and confirming your admission. Kansai Gaidai students are required to live on campus.
- Watch for instructions from ISSS about a separate application form to create your immigration document. Please follow instructions in the email from ISSS and be prepared to upload the biographical page of your passport and your evidence of funding.
- The ISSS exchange coordinator will create and issue your DS-2019 document.
