Exchange students living on-campus are typically housed in Standard Double rooms and are given the Diplomat Standard meal plan. If you select premium housing or a larger meal plan, you will be responsible for the additional costs. See Housing and Dining for more information about on-campus housing and dining options.

Exchange students planning to live off-campus should review information about arranging off-campus housing.

Health Insurance

All international students will be automatically enrolled in the Miami-sponsored student health insurance plan. ISEP-sponsored insurance will be approved for an insurance waiver for the Miami-sponsored health insurance plan. This health insurance requirement helps to protect students from the high cost of health care in the United States. Miami's insurance plan is an excellent plan that is accepted at the student health center and the local hospital, as well as other local providers.

Orientation and Arrival

All incoming exchange students are expected to join an orientation program with other new international students that includes information on: life in the U.S., community standards, academic expectations, visa regulations, Miami support services and building social connections. Additionally, students will receive email newsletters and access to online modules with helpful information to prepare for arrival and starting at Miami.
