Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers and the podcasts “Hey Babe” and “Tastes Buds” headlines Miami Family Weekend!

The Staten Island native is best known for creating and starring in truTV’s long-running hit “Impractical Jokers,” and for “The Misery Index” on TBS. In addition to performing as part of The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe to sold-out arenas, Sal founded the No Presh Network in 2020, hosting "Hey Babe!” and “Taste Buds” podcasts. Sal’s debut solo comedy special ‘Terrified’ was released in May 2024 on YouTube.

Kick-off Family Weekend by visiting Miami Activities and Programming in the Armstrong Student Center. Grab a sweet treat, pick up your Family Weekend Ticket Package gift, and get all the information your family might need to make sure you have an awesome weekend! Additionally, get a sneak peak at the items being auctioned off for MUSF's Family Weekend Auction!

Join us for the annual MUSF Family Weekend Auction! We will have a wide range of baskets and items on which to bid. Bidding will open Thursday evening and close Sunday morning. All funds raised go toward student scholarships!

3 p.m. | Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving vs. Ball State

Uptown Parks

Join us for the Asian Culture Festival, where you can enjoy learning about different Asian countries, watch performances, and eat delicious food. Free and open to the public.

Parking Information

Parking for the Sal Vulcano show in the West Millett lot opens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday Oct. 18. Parking can be purchased in advance through the Miami University Box Office for $10. Parking is $15 at the gate and only credit cards are accepted for payment. There may not be parking available to sell at the gate if sold out in advance.

Parking purchased for the Saturday Football game is separate and therefore not valid for the Sal Vulcano show.

Proceeds from parking sales are used to support free and low-cost cultural and entertainment programming which is available to the campus and the community year-round.

Please note that the parking pass is non-refundable and does not guarantee a space in any particular lot.

Enjoy Free Yoga in the Park at the pavilion and grassy area with Coalition for a Healthy Community - Oxford Area. Bring a water bottle and mat/towel. 

9 a.m.-Noon | Oxford Farmers Market

Uptown Parks

Every Saturday morning, the Oxford Farmers Market Uptown is open 9 a.m. to Noon where around 40 vendors share their gifts with our community.

10 a.m. | M.O.V.E. Bootcamp

Lewis Place (310 E. High Street)

Join President and Dr. Crawford for a fun 45-min. workout in their backyard led by Miami group fitness instructors. The workout is for all levels and free and open to all. All participants will earn exclusive Crawford-collection swag and a post workout snack.

10 a.m. | Dance Theatre 2024 Family Weekend Performance

115 Phillips Hall

Dance Theatre will present an "Informance" in the dance studio. The company performs in a variety of styles and the Informance will showcase excerpts of dances featured in their upcoming December 7 and 8 performance.

All are welcome! Come at 9:30 a.m. to see the company warm up, socialize, and have some light refreshments.

11 a.m.-Noon | Historic Walking Tour of Oxford Cemetery

Peffer Parking Lot (4346 Millville Oxford Rd.)

Registration required, ages 6+. This 60-minute tour will feature notable members of the Oxford and Miami University communities. Please wear shoes you are comfortable walking in and park in the Peffer Park lot, then walk up to the Oxford Cemetery.

Stop in to learn about the relationship between the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and Miami University and the work of the Myaamia Center at this open house

1 p.m. | Afternoon Hike at Hueston Woods

6301 Park Office Rd, College Corner, OH

Meet at the Nature Center to join a naturalist for a stroll through the woods. Please wear appropriate footwear. Bring your vehicle; we will drive to the trailhead.

 

3 p.m. | Hooked on Fishing at Hueston Woods Nature Center

6301 Park Office Rd, College Corner, OH

Meet at the Nature Center and join a naturalist to try your luck at casting a line. Bait and tackle are provided but limited.

3:30 p.m. | Football vs. Ohio

Yager Stadium

Watch the RedHawks face off against Ohio University.

Parking Information

Parking for the Miami Football game in the “Gameday” lots. All gameday lots open five hours prior to kickoff. Parking can be purchased in advance of gameday with your game ticket purchase. Parking is $15 and fans are strongly encouraged to purchase parking prior to gameday, as parking in the gameday lots may not be available. If parking is available, any remaining passes can be purchased at the lot with a credit card.

Wilks Theater in the Armstrong Student Center

Bring your family to Wilks Theater in Armstrong Student Center to enjoy the mystery behind magic and laugh with a magician-comedy show! This free show will be family friendly for all ages. First-come, first-serve!

7:30-9:30 p.m. | Symphony Orchestra

Hall Auditorium

 The evening’s program will begin with Johannes Brahms' Academic Festival Overture, a work that brilliantly captures the joy of academic achievement and the camaraderie of student life. This will be followed by Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, ""From the New World,"" a masterpiece that bridges the old and new worlds, echoing themes of hope, discovery, and cultural exchange. The concert will conclude with Dvořák's Slavonic Dance No. 1, a lively and spirited piece that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Eastern Europe.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets range from $8 to $12 and can be purchased online.

Meet at the Hueston Woods Nature Center to get a close look and learn about some of our resident birds of prey.

1 p.m. | Fossil Expedition at Hueston Woods

Meet at the Hueston Woods Nature Center and join a naturalist to search for signs of prehistoric life and collect fossils. Bring your vehicle, we will drive to the fossil collection site.

2-3 p.m. | Oh, Deer! A Community Conversation with the Experts

Oxford Library - Oxford Havighurst Meeting Room (441 South Locust Street)

For Adults: Join us for a lively panel discussion regarding our abundant deer population. Author Erika Howsare will be joined by a variety of local experts in a conversation followed by Q and A from you, the audience.

Join the Miami University Greek community as they kick-off the annual Greek Week with the fan-favorite Puddle Pull.

Meet at the Archery Range to learn the art of the bow. All programs are subject to change. Notify the naturalist if special accommodations are needed for your participation. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

On-campus Parking

From noon on Friday, Oct. 18 to 7 a.m. on Monday morning, Miami University will have free parking on all campus lots and streets that pass through campus, except for those around Millett Hall and Yager stadium. No parking permits are required; parking meters, the Passport parking app and garages are all free as well.

Please review the accordions above for specific instructions about parking for these events. 

City of Oxford Parking

Meters and parking restrictions will be enforced on Oxford city streets such as Campus Ave and throughout the Uptown district. Paid parking is also available at the public parking garage on the corner of Main St. and Walnut St. There will be no parking on Saturday morning in the public lot on the corner of Main St. and Church St. for Oxford’s popular Farmer’s Market. Pay attention to signage and avoid parking in yellow zones, yards, or blocking sidewalks as parking restrictions will be enforced as posted on Oxford city streets.
