Candidate Biographies

Rachel Beech

Rachel Beech is the associate vice president of enrollment Management for California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB). At CSUSB, Beech serves as the chief enrollment officer with an oversight of five department directors, 90 professional staff, and a budget of more than $6 million. Beech is also part of the Academic Affairs leadership team, with responsibilities for the departments of Outreach and Student Recruitment, Admissions Operations, Orientation and Transition Programs, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Office of the Registrar. Beech also served as assistant vice president of Admissions, Outreach and Transition at CSUSB from 2016-2019.

Mark Simpson

Mark Simpson recently served as assistant vice provost for Enrollment Services and University Registrar at the University of Texas at Austin. Simpson was directly responsible for the Texas One Stop, which comprised all student-facing services and communication for scholarships and financial aid, bursar, and registrar. Simpson was also responsible for the Office of the Registrar, overseeing product and service strategy, budget, staffing, institutional support, technology, policies, and educational programming. Simpson also led digital transformation initiatives at Texas, modernizing existing services, and has been an adjunct professor of sociology at Weber State University since 2008.
