Cradle of Coaches

Miami and Ohio

Fueling Ohio’s billion-dollar sports industry, Miami University’s "Cradle of Coaches" attracts and anchors talent while elevating the state’s national profile. More than a tradition, it is a living legacy shaping leaders who drive success on and off the field. Honored on campus with 11 bronze statues of icons like Paul Brown, Bo Schembechler, and Ara Parseghian, Miami is the only university to produce three Super Bowl-winning head coaches: John Harbaugh, Sean McVay, and Weeb Ewbank. This legacy is amplified through Miami’s partnership with the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami’s Sport Leadership and Management (SLAM) program, where future coaches, analysts, and professionals gain strategic insight, leadership skills, and industry connections — ensuring Ohio remains a magnet for sport leadership and innovation.
