Why Miami University?

I had an Associate's degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, and going to Miami was the best way to finish it as a Bachelor's.

How did you choose your major?

I chose Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology because I was enrolled in the Mechatronics Program at Butler Tech, and I found a strong interest in robotics.

Other Notable Experience

I am an Engineering Technology (ENT) Student Ambassador.

Advice to Prospective Students

Smile, be kind, be positive, and work hard. Those are fundamentals for a good education, in my opinion.

How has your involvement on campus shaped you as a leader and/or prepared you for your career?

I feel that through this opportunity, I have been able to better communicate with people and learn how to make connections and build relationships on the spot, which can be great for leadership and day-to-day interactions.

How have you used what you learned in different subjects to solve a problem or come up with a new idea?

For ENT Senior Design Day, my group and I are creating a remote controlled robot that maneuvers trailers. Come to senior design to see the final product!

How have you taken on leadership roles or responsibilities — whether in your classes, work, or community — during your time at Miami? What motivated you to step into those roles, and what impact did they have?

During my time at Miami, I have been able to step into one leadership role. I am the project manager for my senior design group. This comes with making hard decisions with the group, and making sure we are all on task and delivering results according to our timeline. I stepped into this role because of my previous experience in project management, and I felt very comfortable leading this team. I felt that I had impacted this team positively because of my maturity in this role already, and felt passionate about leading this team to success.
