Why Miami University?
I chose Miami University because of the proximity and affordability, plus it had the degree I wanted.
How did you choose your major?
I knew I wanted to be hands-on, and I have a passion for engineering and understanding how things work, so Engineering Technology was the perfect fit.
How have any faculty, staff, or mentors at the University played a significant role in your journey?
The ENT faculty has been incredible to work with. Everyone is very helpful and willing to work with you.
Please list the groups, clubs, jobs, etc. that you were/are involved with.
I was one of the students who was asked to become a Student Ambassador for the Department of Engineering Technology, and later was allowed the opportunity to become one of the ENT Lab Assistants.
How has your involvement on campus shaped you as a leader and/or prepared you for your career?
My position as a Student Ambassador has helped me to develop my skills in teamwork, leadership, and presentation/public speaking. During my time as a Lab Assistant, I have gained some valuable technical skills as well.
Advice to Prospective Students
The biggest piece of advice I would give to other students would be to communicate with their professors and connect with their peers. Having those relationships helps to ease some of the college stress.
