2022 W. Fred Cottrell Distinguished Gerontology Alumna Awardee - Carrie Graham

Current Speech Pathology and Audiology students are recognized.

On Wednesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. ET, the Scripps Gerontology Center will virtually host the 2022 W. Fred Cottrell Distinguished Gerontology Alumni reception for awardee Carrie Graham, Ph.D.  In honor of W. Fred “Doc” Cottrell, the Cottrell Award is given to alumni of Miami University based on their scholarship, leadership, and mentoring in the field of aging.

Fred "Doc" Cottrell was a great thinker, a prolific scholar, a gifted teacher, an exemplary leader, and a pioneer in the study of aging policy and politics. He contributed to one of the first handbooks on aging and had an influential role in the very first White House Conference on Aging in 1961. Under his leadership, the Scripps Foundation for Research in Population Problems shifted its focus to the study of aging; and in 1972, he became the first director of the newly named Scripps Gerontology Center.

This reception will allow the recipient to virtually connect with our current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. To attend this virtual event and participate in the network opportunities, please be sure to register using the button below.
