Study: Miami in top 30 in alumni wealth
Altrata report ranks wealthy and influential graduates
Miami University is among the top 30 universities in the nation when it comes to alumni wealth, according to a study by Altrata, a global data company.
Altrata’s University Alumni Report 2022 ranks wealthy and influential alumni at institutions both nationally and worldwide. Miami is No. 30 in the United States and one of eight public schools included on the list. The others are the University of Texas; the University of California, Los Angeles; the University of Michigan; the University of Virginia; Indiana University; Purdue University; and the University of Washington.
Miami is the only university in Ohio in the top 30, according to the study. Harvard University tops the U.S. list.
Altrata’s report looks at the leading universities attended by the ultra wealthy, classified as individuals with a net worth of $30 million or more, and senior executives both in the United States and globally. Altrata estimates Miami’s number of ultra wealthy alumni at 1,123.
According to the report, Altrata used its Wealth-X Database and BoardEx’s Global Leadership Database to gain insight into alumni around the world.
“A Miami education gives students valuable experiences both inside and outside the classroom,” Brad Bundy, vice president for Miami University Advancement, said. “Students also receive an excellent return on investment from a school routinely ranked among the top 50 public schools in the nation.”
