Members of the Miami University community joined together Thursday for the third annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in remembrance of the first responders at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

Participants could climb as many as 2,200 stairs, the same number climbed by those that day at the World Trade Center, or finish as many stairs as time allowed. Held at Yager Stadium, the event was hosted by Phi Gamma Nu from 8-11:30 a.m.

This was the third year for the stair climb at Yager. Participants also wrote thank you notes to local firefighters.

Established in 1809, Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, with regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, a learning center in West Chester, and a European study center in Luxembourg.
