Committee formed in search for new Miami provost

Zeb Baker, dean of Miami University’s Honors College, will serve as committee chair in the ongoing search for a new provost and executive vice president.

Other search committee members include Jayne Brownell, Rachel Beech, Ande Durojaiye, Rick Page, Michael Crowder, Jerome Conley, Dawn Fahner, Carrie Chambers, Amy Moore, Kirsten Osteboe, Kathryn Aldstadt, Sara Kelley, John Virden, Michele Navakas, Ellen Yezierski, Liran Ma, Brett Smith, Adam Beissel, Jeremy Jones, and Stephanie Nicely.

The university is working with Storbeck Search, a national search firm, throughout the process. Consultants from Storbeck Search were on the Oxford, Middletown, and Hamilton campuses in September for open forums to discuss the search.

In April, it was announced that Chris Makaroff, former dean of Miami University’s College of Arts and Science, would serve as interim provost. Makaroff replaced Elizabeth Mullenix, who announced earlier this year she would step down as provost and executive vice president to return to teaching in the College of Creative Arts.
Established in 1809, Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, with regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, a learning center in West Chester, and a European study center in Luxembourg.
