Double dose of Halloween hockey a treat for Miami sports fans
Field hockey can clinch MAC regular-season title on Friday; RedHawks off to 6-0 start on the ice

Double dose of Halloween hockey a treat for Miami sports fans
Halloween hockey – both on the field and on the ice – are on the agenda for the RedHawks this Friday.
Miami University’s field hockey team plays host to Longwood University in the Mid-American Conference regular-season finale. A win during the 1 p.m. contest secures the 13th-ranked RedHawks their ninth consecutive regular-season crown and 16th straight MAC title (both regular season and tournament). Both would be conference records.
A victory also earns Miami the top seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament as well as the right to host the event in 2026.
Along with those records and incentives, another conference title would be No. 20 for coach Iñako Puzo, which would be the most for any coach in Miami history.
Free concessions will be available from noon-2 p.m., and a postgame autograph session follows the Senior Day contest. The game, at the Field Hockey Complex adjacent to Yager Stadium, is free and open to the public.
Miami fans can enjoy more Halloween hockey later that night as the RedHawks’ ice hockey team faces Arizona State at 7:05 p.m. at Goggin Ice Arena.
Students can download tickets at MiamiRedHawks.com/StudentTickets. There will be a student costume contest with prizes to the top three, $10 concession vouchers for the first 750 students, and a Kemba Cash Grab.
The RedHawks are 6-0 and off to their best start since the 2007-08 season. They also face Arizona State at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday.
Ticket deals are available for both ice hockey games through 5 p.m. Thursday. Enter the promo code SPOOKYSAVINGS for $6 tickets to celebrate the 6-0 start for Friday’s game, and use that same code for $17 tickets (a throwback price to 2007-08) for Saturday’s game.
Also on the horizon is the upcoming Nov. 12 Black Out/Cradle of Coaches football game on Nov. 12 at Yager Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets for that game for $4 through 5 p.m. Nov. 4 using the code WEWINYOUWIN to celebrate the RedHawks’ 4-0 start in the MAC.
