Record crowd, a legend returns at One Miami

A record crowd of 10,640 packed Millett Hall on Jan. 31 to cheer on the red-hot RedHawks during One Miami presented by E&H Ace Hardware.

The Miami University faithful were treated to a pair of victories as the RedHawks continued their stellar seasons in women’s and men’s basketball. View the Exposure story, with photos and video, from that historic day.

Miami’s women’s team started the day with a 90-70 win over Ohio University as the RedHawks rolled to a 10-0 record in the Mid-American Conference. Following that victory, the Miami men’s basketball team, ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll, defeated Northern Illinois 85-61 to improve to 22-0 (now 23-0 after the RedHawks’ 73-71 win at Buffalo).

Miami honored basketball legend Ron Harper between One Miami games with an honorary degree. Harper, a five-time NBA champion, is the all-time leading scorer in Miami men’s basketball history.
Established in 1809, Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, with regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, a learning center in West Chester, and a European study center in Luxembourg.
