Submit nominations by May 4 for the inaugural awards to recognize those in the Miami community who champion sustainability university-wide

Office of Sustainability Awards: Submit nominations for Sustainable Student Program or Sustainability Champion

Submit nominations by May 4 for the inaugural awards to recognize those in the Miami community who champion sustainability university-wide

Miami University’s Office of Sustainability announces the 2026 Sustainability Awards. 

Nominations are accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, May 4. 

Winners will be announced during the last week of classes, May 11-15.  Nominations will be reviewed by the Office of Sustainability in partnership with Miami's Climate Action and Sustainability Council's Student Engagement and Faculty and Staff Engagement Working Groups.

Categories include “Sustainable Student Program of the Year’ and “Sustainability Champion of the Year.” 

 Sustainable Student Program of the Year

Recognizes an event, initiative, program, or project by any student or group of students at Miami that relates to sustainability. This program should identify a topic related to sustainability and make some form of positive impact or change to your community (large or small). 

Sustainability Champion of the Year

Recognizes any Miami staff or faculty member who champions creating a university-wide culture of sustainable behavior, through actions such as waste minimization, promoting environmentally sustainable actions in their office or workplace, or leading a research project in the area of climate change or sustainability.
