Madison Repass also selected as student board member
William Darling ’90, director of Assistive Technology of Ohio, is the newest appointment to the Miami University Board of Trustees.
Darling’s term began March 1 and ends on Feb. 29, 2032.
Darling earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami in 1990. He was also a member of the university’s track and field team. He received a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University and a doctorate in Rehabilitation Education from Ohio State University.
For more than 20 years, Darling has worked in the assistive technology field, including serving as chairman of the Ohio Development Disabilities Council and as past president of the Ohio chapter of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals.
Also appointed to the board of trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is Madison Repass from Perrysburg. Repass is a Human Capital Management and Leadership major and Entrepreneurship co-major with a minor in International Business. She was appointed as a student trustee member whose term ends Feb. 29, 2028.
Repass is actively involved in Miami’s entrepreneurial and leadership communities as co-president and founding member of the Sigma Eta Pi business fraternity and director of operations for Miami’s L.I.F.E. organization. She has also served as a teaching assistant for Entrepreneurship 101.
Repass also serves as the community engagement chair for McBride Hall and has contributed to Miami’s Women in Business organization through its events and recruitment committees. Repass will graduate from Miami in 2029.
Miami’s Board of Trustees includes up to 17 members, 11 of whom are appointed by the governor of Ohio, with the advice and consent of the Senate. Each gubernatorial appointee must be an Ohio resident and two must be enrolled students.
