Miami University will host two events during Homecoming week for the "Cradle of Coaches" documentary, now streaming on Peacock. A special event was previously held to celebrate the documentary at Paycor Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Homecoming week features two opportunities for Miamians to experience the “Cradle of Coaches” documentary.
Currently streaming on NBCUniversal’s Peacock, the 2-hour film traces the remarkable football coaching legacy at Miami University and the lasting impact those leaders have made on the game. RESLV, a creative agency based in Cincinnati, produced “Cradle of Coaches.”
Cradle of Coaches: Clips and Conversations is 6 p.m. Sept. 24, in the John Dolibois Room at Shriver Center and will take an inside look at the documentary. Featured panelists Adam Beissel, associate professor of Sport Leadership and Management; Jessy Herron, producer at RESLV; Terence Moore ’78, award-winning national sports journalists; and Scott Thompson, director of “Cradle of Coaches” and founder of RESLV, will offer insight into the film during the 2-hour event.
Alecia Lipton, director of media and public relations for Miami’s University Communications and Marketing department, will serve as moderator. A previous panel discussion was held in August at Paycor Stadium.
On Sept. 26, a special Homecoming screening at Armstrong Student Center’s Wilks Theater follows Miami’s football game with the University of Connecticut. The Miami-UConn game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

“Cradle of Coaches” premiered on Peacock on Aug. 17 and has quickly become one of the streaming service’s most popular offerings, rising to as high as No. 2 on the platform’s trending movies. As of Sept. 9, the documentary had been viewed for more than 207,400 hours.
Bob Kurz, a 1958 Miami graduate and former sports information director, is credited with coining the Cradle of Coaches phrase in 1959 when he was inspired by the success of alumni Paul Dietzel, Ara Parseghian, Paul Brown, and Weeb Ewbank, and former Miami coach Sid Gillman. In 1983, Kurz authored the book “Miami of Ohio: The Cradle of Coaches,” outlining how Miamians have revolutionized the game of football in both the collegiate and professional ranks.
Originally dedicated in October 2010, the Cradle of Coaches Plaza at Yager Stadium features bronze statues in the likenesses of Brown, Ewbank, Dietzel, Parseghian, John Pont, Carm Cozza, Bo Schembechler, Red Blaik, John Harbaugh, and Sean McVay.
