Adam Rottinghaus is a critical, media, and cultural studies scholar/practitioner who researches strategic communications, emerging technologies, and futurism.
He is the author of Upgrade Culture and Technological Change: The Business of the Future (2022). A Chinese language edition is forthcoming in late 2024. He has also published in the Journal of Futures Studies, International Journal of Communication, and the Journal of Cultural Economy.
He is currently writing a book on advertising fraud that examines high profile cases and provides readers with tangible ways to protect themselves from false and misleading promotional claims.
For almost twenty years, Professor Rottinghaus has been a graphic designer and art director specializing in print, web, and multimedia production, as well as marketing strategy and brand management. He has worked with a variety of clients from tech start-ups to global corporations in a range of industries including technology, healthcare, chemical, biotech, education, and publishing.
