Army ROTC Cadre and Staff

The faculty and staff of the Department of Military Science at Miami University lead and support the Army ROTC program, guiding cadets through academic instruction, leadership development, and military training. The Professor of Military Science (PMS) teaches military science courses, oversees the program and curriculum, and manages the faculty. The Assistant Professor of Military Science (APMS) also teaches courses, conducts leadership labs and field exercises, mentors cadets, and assists with curriculum and program development. The Senior Military Science Instructor (SMSI) teaches,  provides experienced guidance in tactical training, supervises field exercises, mentors cadets, and ensures practical leadership skills are developed safely and effectively. Instructors and other military science staff support classroom and hands-on training, while the Recruiting Operations Officer handles outreach, recruitment, and scholarships, and administrative and logistical staff manage records, resources, and equipment. Together, they prepare cadets to graduate as commissioned officers in the U.S. Army.
