About Lt. Col. Umholtz
Lieutenant Colonel Robert M. Umholtz is the commander of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 640, Miami University Oxford, OH. He is responsible for recruiting, instructing, training, and overseeing the preparation of officer candidates through a comprehensive college program.
Lieutenant Colonel Umholtz was commissioned in 2005 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps upon graduating from Miami University with a degree in History. He attained master’s degrees in international diplomacy, Russian History, and Military Arts and Operations Science.
Lieutenant Colonel Umholtz is a senior navigator with more than 2400 hours in all variants of the OC/WC/RC-135. Most recently, he was a senior instructor teaching Russian and World History at The United States Air Force Academy Colorado Springs, Colorado.
