Assistant Teaching Professor
Denisa Jacobs is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Miami University Physician Associate Program. She has worked in healthcare and medicine for the past 16 years starting off as a Radiologic Technologist in 2008. She has been a practicing Physician Associate since completing the Kettering College PA Program in 2017. During her time as an Interventional Radiology PA, she was a Certified Clinical Densitometrist and performed a wide range of image guided procedures and diagnostic studies. She has been a Gastroenterology PA since 2020 and manages a variety of acute and chronic conditions in the hospital and outpatient settings.
She has a long-standing passion for education and has been a Clinical Instructor for the Sinclair College Radiology Technologist program and a guest lecturer for the Kettering College and Miami University PA Programs. She has precepted PA students since 2020. She enjoys teaching and considers the educator role a great honor and responsibility in forming the future pioneers of medicine.
She has an interest in health care access and outcomes due to geographic, socioeconomic, racial, ethnic and gender disparities. She is excited to be part of a program that is focused on rural medicine and aligns with national initiatives to improve health equity.
