Biographical Sketch
Matt Nelson has worked over a decade at the Scripps Gerontology Center. His role has included working with a variety of stakeholders (administrators, funders) in survey development, interviewing (administrators, caregivers, participants), data collection, data analyses, report writing, and grant submission. For the last 15 years, he has worked with Scripps staff to develop a profile of nursing home residents in Ohio. It is in this capacity that he took an interest in examining the prevalence of severe mental illness within nursing homes. Matt has presented at regional conferences on this topic.
Matt has extensive experience with large dataset, management, and analysis using a variety of statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, and R. He has taught data management workshops for Miami students.
