Nicholas P. Money
Biographical Information
Professor Money is a fungal biologist and science writer. In his research at Miami, Nik pioneered the use of high-speed video microscopy to understand the explosive mechanisms used by fungi to launch their spores into the air. He has published controversial and highly influential essays on mushroom harvesting (its unsustainability), fungal taxonomy (its scientific and philosophical shortcomings), the medicinal properties of mushrooms (their absence), fungal consciousness (its existence), and fungal infections and climate change (problems with prevailing theory).
