About Lt. Col. Torroll
Lt. Col. Torroll is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 640, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He commands, leads, and directs the unit in recruiting, training, and mentoring cadets as potential Department of the Air Force officers. He serves as the commanding officer at a geographically separated unit, ultimately determining who is commissioned as officers. Lt. Col. Torroll chairs the Department of Aerospace Studies with the university status of full professor.
In 2007, he entered the Air Force as a graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corp program at the University of Northern Colorado. He is a career intelligence officer and political-military affairs strategist.
Lt. Col. Torroll has served in or deployed to, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces Africa, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Lt. Col. Torroll has also led intelligence operations and supported air operations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific. As a political-military affairs strategist, Lt. Col. Torroll served as the Political Advisor to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) Allied Air Command (AIRCOM). He holds advanced degrees in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma and in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University’s Air Command and Staff College. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Commander of the Persistent Infrared Analysis Squadron, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
