Biography
Ms. Tess McGuire graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University, where she double majored in Kinesiology & Human Biology. It was there that she sparked an interest in research as she was an intern for the Sports Injury Research Lab (SIRL) for three years, investigating strength and performance indicators to return to play after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Tess continued her studies at Miami University and received a Master of Science in Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health in 2022 as a graduate teaching assistant. Her research focused on the movement sequence during the short-distance golf shot in male collegiate golfers, with the intention to aid the understanding of performance and coaching. Since graduation, Tess has been working in the cardiac medical device sales industry to blend her clinical knowledge and interest in technological advances to improve patients’ everyday lives.
