Biography
James Shiveley earned his Ph.D. at The Ohio State University. He is recently retired from Miami University where he was the Condit Endowed Professor and the Director of International Programs for the College of Education, Health and Society at Miami University. His research interests are in the areas of citizenship education and comparative education.

- Miami University Luxembourg Award (MUxLux), 2021- medal of the Miami University John E. Dolibois European Center in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg bestowed “upon those whose selfless efforts have brought depth and meaning to the European Center”.
- John E. Dolibois Faculty Award for Innovation in Global Programming, 2017 -- designated for faculty-led study abroad, away, or virtual programming that exemplifies "creative, innovative, and impactful program design, combining rigorous academic study with effective use of program location, resources, and/or technology, and learning objectives focused on increasing intercultural competency."
