Biography
My name is Tiffany James, and I’m excited to be your Instructor for this course. I’m from Upstate NY and am now based in Colorado Springs, CO. I've spent over a decade as a zookeeper working with great apes, rhinos, and many other species before shifting my focus to teaching and conservation leadership. I earned my B.S. in Captive Wildlife Care & Education from Unity College in Maine and my M.A.T. from the Project Dragonfly Global Field Program here at Miami University. Alongside teaching, I serve as Chair of the Board for Zoos and Aquariums for a Neurodiverse Ecosystem (ZANE) and as a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Diversity Committee, where I work to promote accessibility, inclusion, and professional growth in the zoological field. I have a love for travel and conservation and am delighted to be back with Project Dragonfly as a faculty member. My goal is to help each student find and develop their own individual strengths as a zoologist, conservationist, educator, and leader.
