Dave Liam Johnston is the Director of Professional Development for the Wildlife Conservation Society. In his current role, he is all aspects of professional learning for WCS Education across all five of its NYC-based parks. This work includes city-wide, national, and international partnerships in teacher education, higher education, and staff learning. In addition to his work at WCS, Dave is on the Board of Directors for the International Zoo Educators Association, where he serves as the Membership Coordinator. Additionally, he works with Miami University as a Community Learning Leader for Earth Expeditions and with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums on the instructional team for the Conservation Learning Professional Development courses. His research is focused on teacher learning in zoos and aquariums through the lens of Didactic Transposition.
