Hannah Kim is a biologist, science illustrator, and educator whose work bridges ecological research with community-centered visual storytelling. She earned a B.S. in Marine Science and a B.A. in Visual and Public Art from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a M.S. in Biology from Eastern Washington University. Her experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students reaches beyond the classroom into the tropical forests of Costa Rica, where she first became passionate about mentoring. She strives to create spaces where art and science deepen understanding of the ecosystems that surround us, spark curiosity for the research being conducted there, and strengthen community connections with nature.
